Riga residents satisfied with public transport

An absolute majority of “Rīgas satiksme” clients are positive about Riga’s public transport  – 77% of respondents are fully or partly satisfied with the public service. These data were obtained from a survey conducted by market and public opinion research center “SKDS” involving 1305 randomly selected permanent residents of Riga aged 18-74.

A majority of “Rīgas satiksme” clients are positive about the availability and quality of public transport services – 87% and 80% of respondents, accordingly. If we evaluate data for several years, these results have even increased. For example, there were 80% for availability and 78% for quality in 2015.

Aspects related to public transport services were evaluated as very good or good.   For example, 91% of respondents are fully satisfied or rather satisfied with the availability of information about  public transport schedules, 82% are positive about the driving culture of public transport drivers, and as many (82%) are satisfied with the level of comfort in trams, trolleybuses and buses. 79% are satisfied with heating in public transport in cold weather, and 75% are positive about the range of available tickets.

“Rīgas satiksme” orders a client satisfaction survey once in two years to find out what are client’s wishes and satisfaction level, as well as to improve the quality of service.
